The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate has disbursed N3.82bn in accrued pension arrears to 30,356 pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme, following a review of their outstanding entitlements.
The payment, which covered pensioners across three departments of the Directorate, was made after the completion of a Back-End Computation Review Exercise designed to resolve complaints arising from pension calculations and unpaid benefits.
The beneficiaries were drawn from the Parastatals Pension Department, the Defunct and Transferred Agencies Pension Department, and the Tertiary, Education and Health Pension Department.
The total amount paid was N3.817bn, according to a statement issued by PTAD’s Head of Corporate Communications, Olugbenga Ajayi, on Friday.
The statement read, “The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate has disbursed a total of N3.817bn in accrued pension arrears to 30,356 Defined Benefit Scheme Pensioners across the Parastatals Pension Department, Defunct and Transferred Agencies Pension Department, and Tertiary, Education and Health Pension Department.
