The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced that an oil tanker was targeted in a drone attack while exiting the Strait of Hormuz, sustaining minor damage in the incident.
According to an advisory issued by the organization on Friday, August 14, all crew members aboard the vessel are safe, and no oil spills or environmental damage have been reported following the strike.
UKMTO did not release the name of the oil tanker or identify the party responsible for the attack. The maritime security agency advised transiting vessels to exercise heightened caution and report any suspicious activity.
