DEE Development Engineers (DEE) expects to clock orders worth more than ₹2,000 crore in the current financial year, ending March 2027, aided by growing opportunities across its core business as well as emerging sectors such as Nuclear Energy and data centres. The engineering major offers very specialised process piping solutions for oil and gas, power (including nuclear), process industries and chemicals.K L Bansal, Chairman and Managing Director of DEE, told businessline “The opportunity pipeline remains robust, and we continue to see strong traction across both domestic and international markets. We expect going financial years’ order inflows to exceed Rs 2,000 crore, supported by opportunities across our core businesses as well as newer areas such as nuclear and data centres.”With additional orders at the L1 stage and a healthy project pipeline, DEE’s focus is on converting this visibility into profitable growth while maintaining a disciplined approach to capital allocation and debt reduction, he emphasised.DEE maintained a strong order book (cumulative) of ₹2,428.79 crore as on July 31, 2026, supported by continued order activity across its core power, oil & gas, heavy fabrication and industrial businesses. The company recorded order inflows of ₹81.06 crore during July, while execution stood at ₹80.46 crore. With July additions, DEE’s cumulative order inflows for FY27 stood at ₹861.28 crore, including amendments and currency fluctuations. Its core piping business continued to account for the majority of the order book, with strong exposure to power and oil & gas projects across domestic and international operations.Emerging sectorsBansal pointed out that in nuclear, India’s planned expansion from around 8 gigawatt (GW) at present towards 100 GW by FY47 creates a significant long-term opportunity for specialised engineering and process piping, particularly as the power sector mix evolves.Similarly, data centres present another emerging opportunity, driven by the rapid expansion of digital infrastructure and associated power and cooling requirements. The scale of projected investment is around Rs 25 crore of piping opportunity for every 25 megawatt (MW) of data centre capacity, indicating a meaningful addressable market for specialised piping solutions, he emphasized.“At the same time, our core business remains the principal growth driver. We see sustained opportunities across power, oil & gas, chemicals and process industries, supported by a ₹2,428 crore executable order book, 93,500 million tonne per annum (mtpa) of piping capacity and 32,400 mtpa of heavy fabrication capacity,” Bansal noted. The commissioning of DEE’s seamless pipe plant, backward integration, automation and port-led manufacturing platform further strengthens its ability to capture this demand. The company’s focus is therefore on deepening core capabilities while selectively building positions in these emerging, high-growth segments such as nuclear and data centres, he explained.“We remain firmly on track to deliver our FY27 revenue target of ₹1,500 crore-plus and EBITDA margin of over 19 per cent, while continuing to strengthen our cash generation and returns,” Bansal assured.Published on August 14, 2026
