Following the death of a DEd student from Kotabagi village, Dharwad taluk, in what the police suspect to be a related development, a youth from the same village was found dead in his friend’s PG accommodation on Thursday.The police have given the name of the deceased as Tarun Sagar Kurkuri, 21. He was found dead in his friend’s PG accommodation at Daneshwari Nagar in Dharwad.Megha Gubbannavar, 20, a DEd student from Kotabagi village, had attempted to end her life on Wednesday and succumbed on Thursday.The police suspect that Tarun may have taken the extreme step after being informed about the girl’s death. However, in the complaint filed by the girl’s parents, it is stated that the girl was upset with her parents for scolding her for the excessive use of her mobile phone.Two separate cases have been filed: one at Garag Police Station and another at Vidyagir Police Station in Dharwad. According to preliminary information, the youth had reportedly shared with his friends that he was in love with the girl.
