The adopted motion addresses public safety concerns and moves to strengthen the enforcement of municipal by-laws governing dangerous dogs in residential areas.

The eThekwini Council has adopted a motion to urgently review municipal by-laws concerning dangerous dogs following the tragic death of a Montclair woman. This motion aims to enhance public safety and ensure stricter enforcement of regulations

The motion was tabled during a full council sitting, and was proposed by Ward 64 councillor Norman Gilbert and submitted to the Speaker of eThekwini Municipality, Thabani Nyawose, last week.

The adopted motion addresses public safety concerns and moves to strengthen the enforcement of municipal by-laws governing dangerous dogs in residential areas.

Gilbert said the Council acknowledged the tragic circumstances surrounding the death of 27-year-old Nomvula Ndlela, who was mauled by three pitbulls in Woodlands on July 2.
