Russia dropped over 8,300 glide bombs on Ukraine in July – a record since the invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for new sanctions targeting Russia’s defence supply chain after the highest number of guided bomb attacks since February 2022.

“Pressure is needed on every supply chain for foreign components and every enterprise working to enable strikes against lives,” he wrote on social media on Friday, referring to missiles, bombs and drones.

The comments came after Moscow struck residential buildings with glide bombs in the Eastern town of Kramatorsk on Thursday evening, killing one person and injuring 16.

Zelenskyy wrote that Russia launches around 220 guided bombs on front-line cities daily, adding that Russia continues producing the weapons despite international sanctions.
