Two people were arrested Friday in the Halkidiki peninsula of northern Greece for allegedly attacking a media crew from a private Greek TV channel during a wildfire in the area a day earlier, authorities said.
A police statement said the two men faced charges of theft, illegal violence, damaging property, threatening and insulting behavior. A third suspect is being sought in connection with the same incident.
The motive of Thursday’s attack was unclear.
The statement said the suspects allegedly stole a microphone from the crew that was covering the Siviri blaze, damaged a phone belonging to one of the journalists and swore at the crew while making threatening comments.
