FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels has been a quick study, according to his Atlanta Falcons coaches and teammates. For instance, on Monday, Daniels found himself on a collision course with Bijan Robinson during a practice drill.“I was running the alley. He was in the alley,” Daniels said. “But I’m smart enough not to hit Bijan.”Instead, the two fell back into the comfort of trash talk that dates back to their days as opponents in the Big 12. (Daniels played at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State; Robinson at Texas.)“It’s fun,” Daniels said. “Me and Bijan talk to each other every day. That’s my big brother now. They have been hip to hip since April, when Atlanta drafted Daniels in the fourth round and Perkins two rounds later.They are dorm roommates at training camp, and following Monday’s practice, Perkins jumped into the media group asking Daniels questions and threw in a few of his own. Daniels has even credited Perkins with helping him catch up on the practice field after a calf injury sidelined him during spring practices.“KD, that’s my dog,” Perkins said. “I help him, but he helps me out, too.
