The Redmi Note 17 is here, and it puts battery life at the centre of everything. Xiaomi built this phone around a massive 8,000mAh battery and a big 7-inch AMOLED screen. It runs on an entry-level Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip to help keep the price low.
Xiaomi skipped the Redmi Note 16 name entirely. The brand jumped from Note 15 straight to Note 17 to match the naming of its flagship Xiaomi 17 series.
Redmi Note 17 release date
The Redmi Note 17 launched in China on July 14, 2026, where it immediately went on sale. India got the phone next on August 6, 2026, and sales started around August 12.
A global launch for Europe and other markets has not happened yet. Xiaomi has not confirmed a date for these regions as of mid-August 2026. Certification filings indicate a global version is coming, but a launch date is not yet official.
