Nigeria’s drive to attract between $30 billion and $50 billion in offshore oil and gas investments by 2030 is placing greater focus on the security of oil infrastructure, with pipeline surveillance emerging as a key factor in sustaining crude production and investor confidence.
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) projects that 22 major offshore projects could attract investments between 2026 and 2030.
The projects are expected to support higher crude production, create jobs, expand energy infrastructure and strengthen energy security.
The regulator stated that the investment pipeline will support the government’s target to raise crude oil production to two million barrels per day by 2027 and three million barrels per day by 2030.
Since 2024, the NUPRC has said it has approved more than $57 billion in Field Development Plans, with several projects progressing towards Final Investment Decisions.
