The attorney for Andrew and Tristan Tate went on a wild rant outside a federal courthouse in Miami on Thursday after a judge postponed a hearing over whether the social media personalities would stay in custody while fighting extradition to the United Kingdom. Joseph McBride, who also represented several individuals accused of participating in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, said evidence the brothers should be released while facing sex trafficking and rape charges in the U.K. will be “overwhelming” and “compelling.”“And if we lose, and if this judge says ‘Look, despite the compelling arguments, despite what you’ve presented in front of me today, I’m still gonna rule against you,’” McBride said. “Then we will go straight to President Trump’s office; we will go straight to (Secretary of State) Marco Rubio’s office.” McBride then pointed out that no American citizen can be extradited to a foreign country without the secretary of state’s signature. He then launched into a non-sequential rant about the American Revolution. “I understand we have a long and lasting relationship with the United Kingdom, but don’t forget that that relationship started when we took their tea and threw it into the damn water,” McBride said before calling the U.K. a “godforsaken country.”BREAKING: Andrew and Tristan Tate's lawyer, Joseph McBride, just went on an insane tirade threatening to go to Donald Trump if the judge doesn't release the Tate Brothers."We will go straight to President Trump's office. The U.K. has until mid-September to provide the State Department with evidence supporting its extradition request. Both brothers in recent years have become among the most polarizing internet personalities associated with the so-called “manosphere,” a network of online communities that promotes extreme misogyny and hypermasculinity. The White House has previously intervened in legal matters surrounding the Tate brothers when they left their home in Romania, where they face human trafficking charges, and traveled to Florida in February 2025, after U.S. authorities lifted their travel restrictions, according to a report from ProPublica. The Tate brothers have repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in all criminal cases.
