The senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Afolabi Salisu, has given N15m to market women in the district under his ‘Okowo Salisu’ empowerment programme.
Salisu, according to a statement from his media office on Thursday, announced the intervention during a meeting with the leadership of market women at the office of the Iyaloja of Egbaland, Chief (Mrs) Oluwakemi Oloyede, in Asero, Abeokuta.
The meeting was attended by Iyalojas and Babalojas representing various local government areas in Ogun Central.
Speaking at the event, Salisu said the intervention was designed to support traders and strengthen their businesses.
