The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Bashiru Ibrahim, 27 years, and Mustapha Labbo, 26 years, both residents of Jamtari, in connection with the unlawful transportation of suspected Tramadol capsules worth over N5m.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, stated that, “On 11th August 2026, the patrol team attached to the Area Command, Yola, while on routine patrol, intercepted the suspects at Dabala Village via Malabu, while they were transporting the consignment from Jamtari to Garwa in the Republic of Cameroon.”

“A search conducted by the patrol team led to the recovery of 150 packs containing a total of 150,000 Tramadol capsules, with an estimated street value of N5,250,000.”

According to the statement, the suspects and the recovered exhibits have been taken into custody, adding that the investigation is ongoing to establish the source of the drugs and other persons connected to the illegal consignment.
