Tolu Arokodare says he is ready to put Ajax’s ambitions ahead of his desire for regular starts after making an immediate impact on his competitive debut for the Dutch giants, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Super Eagles striker came off the bench and provided an assist as Ajax began their Eredivisie campaign with a 2-0 win away to PEC Zwolle on Sunday.

Arokodare joined Ajax from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan last month, with the Dutch club holding an option to make the move permanent. The 25-year-old previously starred for Belgian side Genk, where he finished as the Jupiler Pro League’s leading scorer in the 2024/25 season.

The Nigerian said technical director Jordi Cruijff explained Ajax’s plans to him before he completed the move to Amsterdam.

“He told me about the team he wants to build, and we can already see it. I really liked it, and I am ready to chase our dreams,” Arokodare said.
