Producers of metals, grains and other raw materials fell as commodities gave back some of their recent gains.
Gold futures fell by 1% but remain more than 9% higher than their 52-week lows in midJuly. Gold was hard hit by fears of a second wave of inflation spurring rate hikes and is rebounding as those fears subside.
