Travis Barker had an ominous feeling ― and his daughter, Alabama, did too ― just before his 2008 plane crash. The Blink-182 drummer opened up about the chilling message his toddler relayed to him the day before the crash, which claimed the lives of four others. “I say bye to Bama. She’s young at the time,” Barker said during a recent appearance on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast. “She’s like, ‘Dad, don’t go!’ She’s bawling, and she doesn’t usually do that,” he said. “She’s like, ‘The roof’s gonna come off,’ and I’m like, ‘What is she talking about?’”Barker said that he had previously tried to back out of the gig that sent him on the fateful plane ride, but he wasn’t able to cancel in time. When he actually saw the small aircraft in person, Barker said he had an “awful” feeling. “Got on the plane, but I knew — something feels off,” the musician said, adding that he called his father. “I even told my dad, ‘If something happens to me, please make sure the kids are taken care of.’ I was saying way too much. All the signs were there.” @jayshetty @Travis Barker opens up about the moments leading up to his flight that went down 🎧Watch the full episode today on Netflix or Spotify by searching 'On Purpose Podcast‘ or listen wherever you get your podcasts 🎙️ ♬ Rising - Diamonds And Ice As soon as the plane took off, everything went wrong. “There’s just a huge loud noise that sounded like gunshots, and the plane spirals out of control. We take off, but there’s smoke filling our cabin. We’re going up, we’re going down and we’re hitting the runway,” Barker said, adding that there was “a full fire in the cabin.”“By then, I was just waiting for lights out. I was like, OK ― this is really happening. I just couldn’t believe it,” he said. “My biggest fear is happening, which still ― it feels like a movie to me. It doesn’t even feel real.” The pilots both died in the plane crash, along with Barker’s assistant and bodyguard. The drummer’s good friend, DJ AM (whose real name is Adam Goldstein), also survived the plane crash, but died a year later. Barker told People magazine this week that after Goldstein’s death, he felt like he was “next.” “I would go from my tour bus to the hotel, and no one would see me,” he told the magazine. “I would just hide out. I was so afraid. I was just waiting for impact in the bus. I was just like, ‘Oh, I’m next. I’m going to go anytime.’” Relatedtravis barkerjay shettyblink 182
