Breaking: The 2026-27 New York Knicks are scheduled to face 29 other teams at least twice for the 22nd consecutive season.Total shocker.The NBA released schedules for every team Thursday afternoon, officially setting the table for the Knicks’ double title defense. On Oct. 20, the Knicks, the reigning NBA champions, will host the new-look Philadelphia 76ers to open the season. No team in the NBA will have more than 16 back-to-back games, and the Knicks see themselves getting the longer end of the stick in this regard. Last season, New York had 14 back-to-back games and it went 8-6 on the second night. One less back-to-back game is always good on the body.Knicks will have at least nine road games in December. This will be the busiest travel month for the Knicks, and it could get crazier depending on what happens in the NBA Cup. New York is scheduled to bounce all over the country in December. It opens with back-to-back road games against the Bulls and Bucks. It ends with games in Utah and Phoenix. In between, the Knicks will go to Houston, New Orleans and Miami.The schedule gives the Knicks some rest. There are 13 scheduled instances this coming season where New York will have at least two days off between games. That feels like a lot compared to years past. However, the Knicks don’t have more than two days off between games (minus the All-Star break), which could be due to the fact they only have 13 back-to-back games.
