As we face these record temperatures, what should the government be doing?

It’s not clear exactly where Andy Burnham stands on the climate debate, and a decision on whether to allow new gas and oil drilling to take place in the North Sea is expected soon.

We’re joined by economist Michael Jacobs, Emeritus Professor of Political Economy at the University of Sheffield, and a former prime ministerial adviser to Gordon Brown who has written books on the green economy and ways to rethink capitalism.
