Layer 1 blockchains produced some of crypto’s largest returns, and traders are again scanning for the next one. Solana changes hands around $76 after a firm week, backed by fresh spot ETF inflows. Sui is priced near $0.69, down about 82% over the year but shipping steady upgrades.

Both are proven Layer 1 networks with active usage. BlockDAG is the newcomer here, priced at $0.002 in Stage 1 with a $0.10 launch reference already published. Analysts floating a next big crypto with 5000x potential tend to look at early Layer 1 entries, which is why BlockDAG has become part of the best crypto platform to invest in now debate.

Solana: ETF Flows Steady the Chart

Solana changes hands around $76, up roughly 3% on the day and about 5% on the week, with a market cap near $44 billion, per data cited by CoinStats. The coin remains well under the record it set in early 2025, but the mood has firmed. Morgan Stanley’s spot Solana ETF, live since late July, drove the largest single-day inflow across U.S. SOL ETF products in months, and inflows continued into August.

Technically, SOL has been coiling inside a tightening range, with the 20-day and 50-day moving averages sitting just overhead as resistance. A daily close above that band would improve the short-term picture. On the development side, the Agave v4.2 upgrade is targeting mainnet in mid-August, aimed at faster block times. For Solana, the question is whether ETF demand and network upgrades can push price back through resistance.
