Industry experts weigh in as AI moves from proof of concept to production

“We’ve proven AI works, now what?” This common question is being echoed in the halls of numerous enterprise organizations around the globe. It highlights how the path from proof of concept to AI production remains a major challenge for enterprises today.

The answer can be found in less emphasis on models and more on operationalization. The next step is to optimize a set of processes not unlike those executed by infrastructure administrators every day, according to one industry executive on the front lines of AI deployment.

“We’re in the middle of a massive industry shift,” said Ruhi Sehgal (pictured, bottom left), agentic AI solutions marketing lead at Nutanix Inc. “We’re moving from proofs of concept into the real work of pushing agentic AI into production. But with this shift comes a new dynamic we know all too well, which is we have highly constrained resources that need to be shared by a massive set of new users. How do I ensure resilience? What infrastructure admins do every day, which is managing multi-tenancy, ensuring security, optimizing performance, that’s exactly what AI needs.”

Sehgal spoke with theCUBE Research’s Rob Strechay for the Supermicro Open Storage Summit interview series, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. She was joined by Wendell Wenjen (bottom right), senior director of marketing development, storage solutions, at Super Micro Computer Inc.; Bill Miller (top left), senior director of lakehouse and AI solutions marketing at MinIO Inc.; and Chris Ratcliffe (top right), vice president of marketing at Peak:AIO Ltd.
