Colombia’s new government has named Miguel Uribe Londoño as ambassador to the United Kingdom, with the news breaking on 13 August 2026.

He is the father of Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay, the 2026 presidential pre-candidate who was shot on 7 June 2025 and died on 11 August 2025.

The appointment comes from President Abelardo de la Espriella, who took office on 7 August 2026 on a hardline, right-leaning platform.

Reported diplomatic postings also include Carlos Felipe Mejía to Madrid, Jorge Jaller Jaramillo to Caracas and Mauricio Tobón to Mexico City.
