The application lists the IGP as the first respondent, the Osun Commissioner of Police as the second respondent and Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District, as the interested party.
Osun State Government has approached the High Court of Osun State seeking an order of mandamus compelling the Inspector-General of Police and the Commissioner of Police in the state to immediately investigate a viral video allegedly showing Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi calling on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to kill members of the Accord Party ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The state government, through the Attorney-General of Osun State, is also asking the court to order the police to preserve and forensically examine the video, protect Accord Party members and other potentially affected residents, and take appropriate lawful action if the investigation establishes that offences have been committed.

The case, titled “In the Matter of an Application for Judicial Review and an Order of Mandamus,” concerns alleged public incitement to violence, threats to life, threats to public peace, electoral violence and political intimidation.
