CMS has announced a final rule ending federal CHIP and Medicaid funds for gender-affirming care in youth.The policy is scheduled to take effect on Oct. 13, but the funding “will be available for a tapering-off period of up to 6 months from the effective date of the final rule for children currently on hormone therapy,” according to a press release from CMS.
