Dunlop launched its new line of equipment, marking a significant investment in advanced manufacturing technology at its uMnambithi (Ladysmith) operation.
Dunlop Tyres South Africa has completed a R1.7 billion upgrade of its uMnambithi manufacturing plant in Ladysmith.
The facility has been fitted with new manufacturing equipment, including a compound mixer, tread and sidewall production lines and advanced curing technology.
The upgrades are expected to increase the plant’s production capacity and support the manufacture of passenger, SUV and light truck tyres for the local and African markets.
The investment was made over three years by Dunlop’s parent company, Japan-based Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI).
