Swan Corp Ltd, a diversified conglomerate with interests spanning manufacturing, defence, shipbuilding, energy, real estate and technology, reported a consolidated loss of ₹31 crore for the first quarter of FY27, compared with a net profit attributable to the owners of the company of ₹19 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.The company’s revenue from operations declined 16 per cent y-o-y to ₹1,014 crore in the April-June quarter of FY27, from ₹1,213 crore in Q1 FY26. This dip in revenue was led by the company’s distribution and development business, which reported a 20 per cent y-o-y decline in revenue to ₹899 crore during the quarter. The construction and other businesses also reported a sharp contraction, with revenue falling 41 per cent to ₹17 crore.The company’s shipyard business, however, recorded a significant increase in revenue during the quarter. Revenue from the segment rose to ₹31 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹42 lakh in the year-ago quarter. The textile business also reported modest growth, with revenue increasing 2 per cent y-o-y to ₹48 crore. Swan Corp operates across seven reportable segments — textile, energy, construction/others, distribution and development, warehousing, manufacturing and shipyard.While the distribution and development segment continues to account for the bulk of the company’s revenue, the shipyard business recorded a substantial increase in its contribution during the quarter. The textile segment, meanwhile, remained relatively stable during the period, with revenue increasing to ₹48 crore from around ₹47 crore in Q1 FY26.
