A 58-year-old businessman has lodged a complaint with the Bengaluru International Airport police alleging that gold jewellery worth around ₹7 lakh went missing from his checked-in baggage during a Bengaluru-Mumbai flight journey.

The complainant, Nauman Siddiq, a Bengaluru resident, said he booked a ticket to Mumbai with his family on July 13, 2026.

According to his complaint, he was carrying around 70 gms of gold jewellery, valued at approximately ₹7 lakh, in his luggage. He said the baggage was checked, tagged and sealed at Kempegowda International Airport after security clearance.

However, upon reaching Mumbai, Siddiq allegedly found that the jewellery was missing from his bag. He subsequently approached the Mumbai airport authorities and also contacted the Akasa Air customer service, but said the missing valuables could not be traced.

Siddiq approached the Bengaluru International Airport police on August 12 and sought an investigation.
