The Majority Leader, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Saleh Hodi, has resigned as the lawmaker representing Disina Constituency to contest the forthcoming Shira Local Government chairmanship election in the state.
Hodi has been a member of the House since he was first elected in 2019.
His resignation was announced by the Speaker of the House, Abubakar Sulaiman, during Wednesday’s plenary in Bauchi.
Sulaiman said the House had received a letter from Hodi formally notifying it of his decision to resign his seat.
He said, “The House received a letter from the Honourable Saleh Hodi formally notifying us of his resignation as the member representing Disina Constituency.
