Historic Syrian artifacts returned from France are on display as part of a summer festival in the Syrian capital, giving visitors a chance to see artifacts that had been taken out of the country about 15 years ago.
The artifacts were returned to Syria in connection with French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Damascus.
The exhibition, held in the Throne Hall of the Damascus Citadel, features funerary sculptures from the ancient city of Palmyra, inscriptions with reliefs and various artifacts dating to the Roman period.

Syrians visiting the exhibition have been able to see the artifacts up close after their return to the country following years abroad.
