Although Xiaomi hasn't made a formal announcement for POCO devices, the newest details suggest that battery capacity could in fact be one of the primary differences between the global and chinese variant.Expected specificationsSpecificationPOCO F9 Pro (expected)POCO F9 Ultra (expected)Display6.59-inch AMOLED, up to 185Hz6.9-inch AMOLED, up to 185HzProcessorSnapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 familySnapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5Battery6,330mAh8,050mAhWired charging100W100WMain camera200MP, expected200MP, expectedPossible counterpartRedmi K100 ProRedmi K100 Pro MaxGlobal statusUnannouncedUnannounced6,330mAh battery: Why is the Pro getting a smaller cell? The biggest surprise in the latest leak is the POCO F9 Pro’s reported 6,330mAh battery. It would still make the phone impressively good for longevity, but considerably less than the 8,580mAh cell seemingly used in the Chinese version of the Redmi K100 Pro-a difference of about 2,250mAh. This time the gap is slimmer-the F9 Ultra has a leaked 8,050mAh against the 9,070mAh found in the Redmi K100 Pro Max.The values themselves were found in the HyperOS code by Kacper Skrzypek, making these leaks rather more precise than the usual rumourology. Both POCO models are nevertheless expected to retain 100W charging.Could it be a rebranded version of the Redmi K100 lineup? The evidence increasingly points towards the POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra being global counterparts of the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max. The naming and expected hardware fit Xiaomi’s established strategy of adapting China-exclusive Redmi K-series phones for international markets under the POCO F brand. The F9 Ultra, in particular, is reported to share the K100 Pro Max’s Snapdragon platform and 185Hz display, while the F9 Pro is expected to follow the smaller K100 Pro. However, the battery differences suggest that these may not be straightforward one-to-one rebrands. Earlier POCO generations have also used different battery capacities outside China, meaning regional certification and market requirements could influence the final configuration.Availability and pricing: When could the POCO F9 series launch?Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any dates or pricing for the POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra at the moment. The handsets are being described as global variations but Xiaomi has not divulged which countries will receive either, including if India will be among the earliest available markets. Once the Redmi K100 Pro and the Pro Max cement their spot in the Chinese market, details could become more apparent.
