Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Actress and singer Vanessa Williams said she was third artist offered what would be the classic 1990s ballad, Save the Best for Last.

"They gave it to Bette Midler, who passed," Williams, 63, said on Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Dinner's on Me podcast Wednesday. "They gave it to Streisand, and she passed. And I was, like, third one up."

The song spent five weeks at the top of the Billboard 100 record chart.

Ferguson teased his chat with Williams on social media.
