Captain 1st Rank Robert Shageyev was killed in an explosion in Sevastopol. He had served as deputy commander of the 4th Separate Submarine Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, which launched Kalibr missiles at Ukraine.

The Telegram channel Crimean Wind stated this in a post, as reported by Ukrinform.

"A former military submariner was blown up on Stoletovsky Avenue in Sevastopol, according to our source. The man was walking down an outdoor staircase when an explosive device detonated nearby," the report said.

According to the report, Russian media claimed that a woman who allegedly detonated the explosive device had been detained. Preliminary information indicated that the device had been placed in a trash bin.

Later, information emerged that Robert Shageyev, a 49-year-old captain 1st Rank and former commander of the Ukrainian submarine "Zaporizhzhia," had been killed in Sevastopol. In 2014, he allegedly betrayed his oath, sided with the occupiers, and became the commander of a Russian submarine.
