The Amazon Fire TV Soundbar 2.0 Speaker is Amazon’s entry-level soundbar, aimed at anyone who’s still listening to a TV through the speakers built into the back. There are two full-range drivers inside, and DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio processing handle the rest, giving you a sense of surround sound without having to put speakers around the room. The bar measures 24 inches long and 2.5 inches tall, so it’ll sit in front of most TVs without blocking anything. An HDMI cable comes in the box, and Bluetooth is there for streaming music off your phone.

With TVs getting thinner, there’s no longer enough space to mount an adequate speaker inside the panel. As a result, dialogue turns into mumbles and explosions are flat. Setup takes about two minutes and involves plugging the power cord in, running the included HDMI cable from the soundbar to the eARC or ARC port on your TV, and turning it on. Your TV should switch its audio over on its own from that point. There’s no app to install and no account to set up.
