Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz says their highly anticipated Betway Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns may have come early in the season, but it will gauge their readiness to compete on all fronts.
Chiefs are currently riding high in the league, having won their opening two matches against Kruger United and Sekhukhune United – the latter a mid-week victory at FNB Stadium.
Those wins pushed Amakhosi to the top of the standings in the league with a maximum of six points, helping offset their early MTN8 quarter-final exit to Golden Arrows.
Chiefs host Sundowns at the Calabash on Saturday in a fixture Da Cruz believes will test their mettle, given the Brazilians' dominant standing.
