Brian Madjo's competitive debut for Aston Villa lasted 90 minutes, but the 17-year-old striker needed only one night to invite comparisons with one of football's most imposing center-forwards.
Madjo scored against Paris Saint-Germain in Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup final, repeatedly overpowering and unsettling the Champions League winners' defense despite Villa's 2-1 defeat.
His 1.93-meter (6-foot-4) frame, strength in duels, ability to hold off defenders and instinct in front of goal quickly prompted comparisons with Romelu Lukaku.
The comparison is not difficult to understand.
Like Lukaku in his early years, Madjo combines unusual physical power with surprising mobility for a player of his size. He can occupy center-backs, compete for aerial balls, protect possession and attack crosses with authority.
