The water level of the Danube near Ruse has fallen by another 2 centimeters over the past 24 hours, reaching minus 118 centimeters below the conventional zero level.
The latest figures from the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River show that water levels are continuing to decline at most monitoring stations along the Bulgarian section of the river.
At Novo Selo, the river level rose by 1 centimeter, while the reading at Lom remained unchanged. At the remaining water gauge stations, levels dropped by between 1 and 4 centimeters.
All restrictions currently imposed on vessels navigating the Bulgarian section of the Danube remain in effect because of the low water levels. No new vessels were reported stranded during the past 24 hours.
The River Supervision Directorate also said that a pusher vessel that ran aground the previous day near the village of Gomotartsi has still not been towed.
