Announcement comes three days after fellow member Jeongyeon’s exit Chaeyoung (JYP Entertainment) Twice member Chaeyoung announced Thursday that she will continue her solo music career independently following her departure from JYP Entertainment, while reaffirming that she will remain active as a member of the girl group.In a handwritten letter posted on Instagram, Chaeyoung said she wanted to personally share the news with fans before announcing that she would continue her musical journey through "Lil Fantasy."Lil Fantasy is Chaeyoung’s debut solo LP released in September 2025, as well as the name she uses to refer to her personal creative and musical universe.The singer expressed gratitude to JYP Entertainment, where she spent 14 years, including her trainee period, as well as the members of Twice.“I want to deeply thank everyone at JYP and Team Twice for believing in and supporting me over the past 14 years,” she wrote in English. “And to my Twice members, who are always my strength and biggest supporters, thank you and I love you beyond words.”Chaeyoung stressed that her departure from the agency would not affect her activities with the nine-member group.“Most of all, please know that nothing changes with Twice,” she said. “Everything I’ve received is thanks to my time as Twice, which will always be my roots.”She added that she hopes to continue delivering meaningful music both as Chaeyoung of Twice and of Lil Fantasy.“I hope both Chaeyoung of Twice and Chaeyoung in Lil Fantasy can continue to create music that brings meaning to you as well,” said Chaeyoung. “This is a new challenge for me, and I promise to keep growing into an even better person and artist. Jeongyeon recently signed with Varo Entertainment, where her older sister, Gong Seung-yeon, is also represented.
