The US Supreme Court has granted Apple a one-day administrative pause to a lower court’s proceeding over its App Store fees, to give it more time to consider Apple’s request for a longer-term stay.
Justice Elena Kagan paused the proceedings in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, which are part of the long-running antitrust case between Apple and Epic Games that could have far-reaching effects on the terms Apple imposes on developers who use its App Store.
Without the pause, Apple would have needed to make a filing in the California case by Wednesday afternoon.
One-day delay
That deadline has now been pushed back to 5 p.m. Washington, DC time on Thursday.
