Assets under management (AUM) of Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs) rose 30% month-on-month to Rs 23,177 crore in July 2026 from Rs 17,858 crore in June, while total inflows increased 30% to Rs 4,922 crore from Rs 3,782 crore, according to the ValueMetrics Mutual Fund & SIF Flow Meter (August 2026).Hybrid Long-Short Funds continued to dominate the SIF segment, accounting for 66% of total SIF AUM at Rs 15,374 crore as of July 31, 2026, with an average folio size of Rs 36.9 lakh. Overall, Hybrid Investment Strategies contributed 71% of total SIF AUM, amounting to Rs 16,524 crore, with an average folio size of Rs 34.1 lakh.Equity-Oriented Investment Strategies accounted for the remaining 29% of total SIF AUM at Rs 6,654 crore, with an average folio size of Rs 14.4 lakh. Overall SIF AUM stood at Rs 23,177 crore at the end of July, with an average folio size of Rs 24.5 lakh across 30 schemes.Hybrid Long-Short Funds attracted Rs 3,258 crore in inflows during July, up 59% from Rs 2,043 crore in June. Since October 2024, the category has received cumulative inflows of Rs 14,827 crore, accounting for 66% of total SIF inflows, the highest among all investment strategies.Equity-Oriented Investment Strategies received Rs 1,454 crore during July, an increase of 33% over Rs 1,097 crore in June. Cumulative inflows into the category since October 2024 have reached Rs 6,392 crore, contributing 29% of total SIF inflows. Overall cumulative inflows into SIFs since October 2024 stood at Rs 22,328 crore.The broader mutual fund industry also recorded steady investor participation during July. Total mutual fund AUM increased to Rs 85.8 lakh crore, while net inflows into active equity and hybrid funds stood at Rs 36,188 crore, supported by sustained retail participation through SIPs and continued interest in equity-oriented investment products.Active equity mutual funds recorded gross inflows of Rs 69,522 crore in July, up from Rs 67,601 crore in June. SIP contributions rose to Rs 31,961 crore, while SIP assets increased to Rs 18.20 lakh crore.Hybrid funds, excluding arbitrage funds, attracted net inflows of Rs 5,479 crore in July compared with Rs 7,163 crore in the previous month.Gold ETFs recorded net inflows of Rs 1,559 crore in July after attracting Rs 3,443 crore in June. Active equity funds registered net inflows of Rs 24,697 crore during the month, reflecting continued retail participation and positive investor sentiment.SIP contributions reached a record Rs 31,961 crore in July, while SIP AUM rose to Rs 18.20 lakh crore. Outstanding SIP accounts increased to 10.63 crore, alongside net addition of 11.1 lakh SIP accounts, indicating sustained retail participation despite market volatility.
