Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and some of the world’s best darts players could be heading to Hong Kong next year, with promoters hoping to stage a masters tournament in Kai Tak Arena.Officials from the Professional Darts Corporation toured the 10,000-seat venue this week and were said to be “very keen to host an event” at the end of August 2027.The tournament, which would take place on the weekend after the Australian Dart Masters, would see eight of the world’s top 10 take on eight of Asia’s best, with Hong Kong expected to be given two spots. If the city did stage a masters, it would become the seventh leg in a series that is expected to begin in Bahrain in January and take in stops in Saudi Arabia, New York, Norway, New Zealand and Australia. An initial outline of the two-day tournament has a round of 16 being played on Friday, August 27, with the remaining knockout rounds and final the following day.If organisers can arrange the financial backing they need to stage the event, Hong Kong fans would expect to see the likes of Hugo Leung Man-lok and Matthew Lee Lok-yin take to the oche next summer.
