The other shareholder trusts take the charitable-trust holding to roughly two-thirds, but SDTT and SRTT are overwhelmingly the largest shareholders.Separately, M K Tata Trust holds 2,421 shares of Tata Sons, according to a 2024 Income Tax Appellate Tribunal judgement. The shares were settled into the trust as corpus when it was created in 1959. Tata’s public description of its overall ownership structure rounds the philanthropic trusts’ combined holding in Tata Sons to 66%.
