Mumbai: Groww continued to strengthen its lead among India's top brokerages in July, adding more than 70,000 active accounts during the month and taking its net additions for 2026 to nearly 9.97 lakh accounts, according to NSE data. The brokerage is the biggest gainer in active client base this year even as peers grappled with a slowdown in user additions. An active client is defined as one who transacts at least once in a year.The industry shed 8,000 net active clients in July from the previous month to a total of 4.55 crore.Zerodha, the country's second-largest broker, continued to lose active accounts, with its user base shrinking by about 38,700 in July. The brokerage has lost nearly 89,700 active accounts so far in 2026.
