D’Tigress bounced back from two successive defeats to China by beating the hosts 88-77 in their third and final meeting in Foshan, Guangdong Province, on Wednesday, as they continue their build-up to the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The reigning African champions dominated from the opening quarter, racing to a 32-17 lead before extending their advantage to 58-29 at halftime.
China attempted to fight back in the third quarter, but Nigeria maintained control and entered the final period with a 71-52 lead.
The hosts improved further in the fourth quarter, but D’Tigress held on to secure an 88-77 victory and end the three-game series with a win.
The victory also avenged Nigeria’s 69-65 defeat to China in their second meeting on Sunday and a 70-67 loss in the opening encounter last Friday.
