BAGUIO CITY — Dengue cases in the Cordillera have declined by 3 percent from last year, but eight people have died from the mosquito-borne disease so far this year, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Wednesday.
The DOH-Cordillera recorded 4,009 dengue cases from Jan. 4 to Aug. 1, 2026, with infections reported in 136 barangays across the region.

Patients ranged in age from a 4-day-old newborn to 97-years-old, with a median age of 18. The 10- to 14-year-old age group recorded the highest number of cases.
