The Bayelsa Rescue Mission has accused Governor Douye Diri of allegedly marginalising Bayelsa East Senatorial District and parts of Yenagoa Local Government Area in the distribution of key political appointments and party positions.

The group, in a statement by Publicity Secretary, Kalas Agai Nimitenbofa, on Wednesday, said the alleged exclusion of Brass, Nembe, Ogbia and Yenagoa from strategic positions had created a disturbing perception of political imbalance in the state.

The BRM stressed that its position was not a demand for political patronage but a call for fairness, equity, inclusion and equal representation.

“Bayelsa belongs to all of us. No Senatorial District, Local Government Area, community or group of citizens should be made to feel that it has been excluded from the affairs of the state,” the statement said.
