The Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on traditional rulers in the state to prioritise dialogue, mediation, and diplomacy in resolving land disputes, chieftaincy tussles, and inter-community conflicts.

Aiyedatiwa made the call in Akure, the state capital, on Wednesday during a three-day capacity-building workshop organised for traditional rulers by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The workshop was themed, ‘Repositioning the Traditional Institution for Harmonious Relationship, Security, Cultural Preservation and Sustainable Development.’

The governor stressed that peace remained an indispensable prerequisite for societal growth, adding that traditional institutions played a critical role in maintaining law, order, and peaceful coexistence.
