The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Katsina Command, has said none of its serving personnel has been convicted of job racketeering.
The command’s spokesman, SC Buhari Hamisu, made the clarification in a statement issued on Wednesday in Katsina.
Hamisu was reacting to a viral report alleging that a serving Deputy Commandant of the Corps had been convicted by a Katsina High Court.
He described the claim as false, saying the report misrepresented the facts and created a misleading impression about the Corps.
The spokesman confirmed that a conviction had occurred but explained that the individual involved had already retired from the NSCDC before the court delivered its judgment.
