The Kano State Fire Service says 18-year-old Abdullahi Aminu has drowned after falling into a pond at Kofar Gabas in Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State.

The Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Sani Anas, disclosed this in a statement signed by the service’s Public Relations Officer, Saminu Abdullahi, on Wednesday in Kano.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Abdullahi said the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

The statement noted that the station received a distress call from the Danbatta Fire Station at about 3:28 p.m. from Aminu Lawan, the victim’s father, who reported that his son had drowned in the pond.
