"I believe it’s fair to correct a false narrative, especially after asking to not be misrepresented," Neil Perry tells Rolling Stone, after a series of Instagram posts addressing comments his sister made on the Nashville Now podcast
Things are getting complicated for The Band Perry. On Tuesday night, Neil Perry, one of three Perry siblings, took to Instagram to explain his side of what he claims is the dissolution of the band. Perry is no longer a member of the group that’s now led by his sister Kimberly and her husband, Johnny Costello.
Via a post that points to some pivotal moments in June 2024 (and includes a clip of Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast interview with Kimberly), Neil wrote that he was “terminated” from the Band Perry after a disagreement with his sister about who will remain in the lineup.
In a second post Wednesday, Neil elaborated, writing that he “explicitly asked my sister not to misrepresent my support for the current vision of the band,” seemingly a reference to Kimberly’s comments on the Nashville Now podcast where host Joseph Hudak asked if she was given her brother’s blessing in the new iteration of the band (she does not name Neil directly in the clip).
