Tampa Bay Buccaneers second-year wide receiver Emeka Egbuka was forced from today's practice with an apparent lower-body injury, which caused him to limp off the field. While he did not return to practice, he did stick around on the sideline, which has led most to the conclusion that this injury is not overly serious. Nevertheless, this is a situation worth monitoring until we know for sure.
#Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka limped off with athletic trainers. Was examined on the sideline table for a while. Hard to see exactly what’s up from where we are but he’s still on the table and hasn’t returned.— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) August 12, 2026Even if this injury is not overly serious, it's extremely unlikely we see him on the field in Friday's preseason game. There was a chance that he wasn't playing in that game even if fully healthy anyway, so now it looks like there is no chance he's out there. Hopefully, Egbuka is out there and looking healthy when the Bucs return to practice at the start of next week. It would relieve a lot of stress from fantasy owners.

WR Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
We do not expect this injury to put him in any danger of missing Week 1, but we will still be monitoring Egbuka's practice status until he is a full go. As of now, this will not impact how we are approaching drafts at all.
