Former SEC standout turned college football analyst David Pollack has unveiled his full preseason predictions. Not only is Pollack ignoring the preseason favorite and making a surprising CFP champion pick, but he's laying out his entire CFP field and there were more than a few surprises included and omitted. Pollack's Title PickOn the See Ball Get Ball podcast, Pollack unveilled his full preseason CFP picks, including a mild upset at the top of the picture. Pollack has Oregon as the No. 4 overall CFP seed, but picks the Ducks to win the CFP crown. Of course, this would be the fourth consecutive different Big Ten team to claim the CFP if Pollack's pick is correct. Oregon opens the season ranked No. 2 in the preseason coaches poll behind Ohio State. While Pollack does have the Buckeyes in the CFP field, he picked the Ducks to win the Big Ten-- and the title.Oregon's returning veteran core seemed to be the decisive factor for Pollack. "These guys all came back for a reason," said Pollack. "These are some adults. You're going to leave the Oregon game this year black-and-blue." While a physical defense is key for Oregon, the return of likely No. 2 NFL Draft pick Dante Moore will give plenty of flash on the offensive side of the ball for the Ducks. He slated just three Big Ten teams, but five SEC teams into the Playoff: Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Alabama. Pollack's remaining four spots went to No. 1 overall seed Notre Dame, apparent ACC champion Miami, Big 12 champ Texas Tech, and then Group of Five selection Boise State. SEC ControversyPollack may draw some criticism in SEC circles over placing Alabama (preseason No. 11) in his CFP field, but leaving Texas A&M (preseason No. 8) out. Pollack called the A&M offensive line "a question mark for me" He then termed Alabama "not that far removed" from having the best talent in the nation and cited Coach Kalen DeBoer's cool demeanor and an apparent pre-season chip on DeBoer's shoulder as factors for choosing the Tide.Pollack didn't pick any SEC teams to make the CFP semifinals, with his semifinal matchups being Oregon facing Notre Dame while Texas plays Indiana. His other projections included top four seeds Miami and Texas Tech falling in the quarterfinal round. Pollack's G5 PickPollack chose the presumptive favorites in the ACC and Big 12 for CFP spots, and opened up a bit on his selection of Boise State. "I love this team," he said, referencing QB Maddux Madsen's return as a key and noting the pedigree of strong programs in Bronco history. Add us as a preferred source on GoogleFollow
